ABOUT THE TOUR:
The Novel Inspirations Art and Literature Tour offers an opportunity to explore New York City’s best museums, galleries and libraries in a creative and interactive way. Each day is filled with unique experiences, inspiring speakers and hidden gems of the city, all directed towards personalizing art while making connections to literary sources.
The tour begins Thursday at 12:30 pm and concludes Sunday at 1:00 pm. Each day will be filled with a variety of museum, library and gallery visits. You’ll receive recommendations for restaurants, Broadway plays, dance and opera performances to enjoy on your own, as well as a reading list of art-related novels to enhance the experience.
WHAT IS INCLUDED:
- Group led discussions by Tina Urman, curators, gallery owners, docents and educational directors
- Admission to all museums and galleries
- A group welcome lunch and farewell dinner
Transportation and accommodation are not included. A preferred rate for a Midtown hotel will be provided.

MUSEUMS, GALLERIES & LIBRARIES
Depending on scheduled exhibitions, visits may include:
THE MET: The largest museum in the US showcases an array of art from classical antiquity and ancient Egypt, to paintings and sculptures from European masters to an extensive collection of American and modern art.
THE MoMA: Identified as the most influential museum in the modern art world with ever changing special exhibits.
NEUE GALERIE: The Neue houses a magnificent collection of early 20th century German and Austrian art and design.
THE WHITNEY: The New Whitney Museum opened May 2015 with a continued focus on 20th and 21st century American Art.
THE MORGAN LIBRARY: This magnificent library was founded to house the private collection of J. P. Morgan in 1906, and includes manuscripts and rare books, as well as a collection of prints and drawings.
THE NEW YORK CITY LIBRARY: Opened in 1911 this majestic building is a National Historical Landmark housing rare collections of books, prints, drawings and artifacts.
CHRISTIE’S AUCTION HOUSE: Founded in Britain, Christie’s is a multinational art business and a fine arts auction house, currently the world’s largest.
THE HIGH LINE: The High Line is an urban park built in Manhattan on the elevated section of the old NY Railroad line. It has become a jewel of the city and a well-respected platform of art.
WHITE CUBE GALLERY: The White Cube gallery was founded in London 30 years ago, and expanded to include locations in Hong Kong, Paris, Seoul, West Palm Beach, and now New York City.
ROSENBERG & CO: A unique gallery created in keeping with family history while combining modern and contemporary works of art. The gallery is owned by Marianne Rosenberg, the grand- daughter to Paul Rosenberg, the prominent French art dealer from whom the Nazis looted significant works of art.

- Hot Docs At Home on CBC aired Made You Look: A True Story About Fake Art. It is an intriguing documentary that raises endless questions regarding the authenticity of art, the value of a piece and what people are willing to spend.
